Chairman of the Legislative Programs, Education and Community Services

Committee, Mary Wawro, and Deputy Chairman David B. Donaldson offer the

following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Ulster County Office for the Aging; and

WHEREAS, the New York State Office for the Aging has notified Ulster

County that funding for the 2017-2018 Balancing Incentive Program (BIP) is

available in the amount of $239,907; and

WHEREAS, the goal of the Balancing Incentive Program is to provide

information and assistance to elderly and disabled persons throughout the county, and

to the underserved populations that reside in Ulster County; and

 

WHEREAS, the term for the Balancing Incentive Program is January 1, 2017

through March 31, 2018; and

WHEREAS, if the County’s application is approved, the funds will be used to

reimburse the County for BIP expenditures incurred by the Ulster County Office for

the Aging, including salaries, benefits, and operational costs; and,

WHEREAS, reimbursement for County expenditures will be available after

submission by the County and approval by the New York State Office for the Aging

of an application, standard assurances, program narratives and program budget; and

WHEREAS, the Director of the Office for the Aging requests the Chairman of

the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute the Balancing Incentive

Program application, with required assurances, and any amendments thereto; now,

therefore, be it 

 

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to execute the agreement with required assurances, and any amendments

thereto, with the New York State Office for the Aging for the NY Connects and the

Balancing Incentive Program in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County

Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

and move its adoption.
