Deputy Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning, and

Transit Committee, Hector Rodriguez, and Legislators Berky and Delaune offer the

following:

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature (the Legislature) is the policy

making body on behalf of the people of Ulster County; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislature maintains oversight committees in concert with

the County Executive; and

 

WHEREAS, the Legislature has previously approved funding for the Office of

Economic Development and the Economic Development Agency; and

WHEREAS, the Legislature is desirous to establish criteria to measure

economic success or failure from these efforts; and

WHEREAS, the Legislature has determined that reporting criteria would be

valuable in determining future Economic Development funding levels; now,

therefore be it

RESOLVED, the Ulster County Legislature will require reporting from the

Office of Economic Development every other month, on the following areas in order

to create a baseline by which to measure the County’s economic development efforts:

• DBA filings

• Commercial Referrals to the Planning Board

• Unemployment Rate

• Private Sector Jobs

• Median Wages

• Start-up Job Creation

• Home Sales

• Housing Starts

• County Property Tax Levy

• Sales Tax

• Occupancy "Bed" Tax

• I LOVE NY Numbers

• Census Data; 

 

and, be it further

RESOLVED, the Legislature may ask for additional information to be

included in these reports and may be added to the baseline assessment of the Office

of Economic Development and the Economic Development Agency,

and move its adoption.
