Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano,

Deputy Chairman Peter M. Loughran, and Legislator Litts offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, the County Executive has submitted this resolution on behalf of

the Department of Public Works; and

 WHEREAS, an existing intersection, in the Town of Lloyd, located at New

Paltz Road (County Road 159) and South Chodikee Lake Road (Town of Lloyd

owned/maintained roadway) has been deemed a safety concern due to limited site

distance for vehicles entering onto New Paltz Road from S. Chodikee Lake Road;

and

WHEREAS, it has been determined the roadways and intersection should be

realigned to provide better site distance; and

WHEREAS, project expenditures in the amount of $320,000.00 for New Paltz

Road Realignment, were approved in the 2017 – 2022 Capital Program; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Commissioner of Public Works requests funds

for the New Paltz Road Realignment project; and

WHEREAS, it is now necessary to fund Capital Project No. 501 in the amount

of $320,000.00, and

WHEREAS, based upon examination by the Ulster County Legislature, the

County’s funding of this Project constitutes a Type II action as defined under

Sections 4.5.6 of the County of Ulster’s State Environmental Quality Review Act

(SEQRA) Type II List, which was adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 118 dated

April 20, 2010, and

 WHEREAS, Ulster County has determined that this funding action does not

pose a significant potential environmental impact and may be progressed as a Type II

action in accordance with 6 NYCRR Part 617 of SEQRA, and does not require any

further determination or procedure under SEQRA, now, therefore, be it 

 

RESOLVED, that Capital Project No 501 – New Paltz Road Realignment

Project is hereby established as follows:

 CREATE

Capital Project No. 501 New Paltz Road Realignment Project $320,000.00

 Town of Lloyd

 

RESOLVED, that the 2017 Capital Fund Budget be amended as follows:

 INCREASE AMOUNT

HH.5197.0501-2300.2550 Construction $284,000.00
