Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and

Deputy Chairman Peter M. Loughran offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 477 dated December 15, 2015, authorized the

Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature to enter into two lease agreements with

Astor Services For Children & Families (hereinafter “Astor”) for office space

consisting of 588 square feet in Ellenville located at the County’s Trudy Resnick

Farber Building, 50 Center Street, Ellenville, New York (hereinafter the “Ellenville

location”) for a term of three years commencing December 5, 2015, and for 2,080

square feet in Kingston located at the Golden Hill Office Building, 239 Golden Hill

Drive, Kingston, New York (hereinafter the “Kingston location”) for a term of three

years commencing December 5, 2015, and at a cost to Astor of $5,880.00 annually

for the Ellenville location and at a cost of $20,800.00 annually for the Kingston

location; and

WHEREAS, upon further review of the space currently occupied by Astor, it

has been determined that they occupy 1,230 square feet; and

WHEREAS, due to budget constrains Astor has requested a reduced rent of

$6.14 per square foot for year one of the lease, totaling $7,552.20, an increase of

$1,672.20 annually from the amount set forth in Resolution No. 477 of December 15,

2015 (hereinafter the “Resolution”); and

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works has requested the Chairman

of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to enter into a lease agreement with

Astor, to wit: a three-year and twenty-seven (27) day lease agreement, commencing

December 5, 2015 and ending December 31, 2018, for the space in Ellenville for the

following rental fees: 

 

December 5, 2015 - December 31, 2015 $7,220.20/annual-$629.35mo.($558.63-prorated)

January 1, 2016 - December 31, 2016 $7,552.20/annual-$629.35/mo.

January 1, 2017 - December 31, 2017 $12,300.00/annual-$1025.00/mo.

January 1, 2018 – December 31, 2018 $12,300.00/annual-$1025.00/mo.; and

 

WHEREAS, the Resolution is being amended only in regards to the lease

agreement between the County and Astor for the Ellenville location; and

WHEREAS, the Resolution shall be unaffected in regards to the three year

lease agreement, commencing December 5, 2015 for 2,080 square feet of space at the

Kingston location leased to Astor from the County for $20,800.00 annually; and,

now, therefore be it

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to enter into a lease agreement with Astor for office space consisting of

1,230 square feet at the Ellenville location for a term of three years and twenty-seven

(27) days commencing December 5, 2015, in a form as filed with the Clerk of the

Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney;

and moves its adoption.
