Ways and Means Committee (Chairman Gerentine and Legislators Allen, Bartels,

Belfiglio, Briggs, Maio, and Maloney)

Chairman of the Legislature, Kenneth J. Ronk, and Legislator John Parete offer the

following:

 

 WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive; and

WHEREAS, there is potential available funding in the amount of $389,863.00

by the New York State Urban Development Corporation d/b/a Empire State

Development, for Hurricane Irene – Tropical Storm Lee Flood Mitigation Capital;

and

 WHEREAS, the funds will be used to offset a portion of the cost of flood

mitigation projects at various sites within Ulster County; and

 WHEREAS, the funds will be disbursed by the County to various towns for

the reimbursement of eligible costs contained within the grant disbursement

agreement; and

 WHEREAS, the goal of the flood mitigation projects (Project #’s X914 &

Y489) is to reduce the impact from future flood events at the work sites; now,

therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Executive is hereby authorized to execute

an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the New York State Urban

Development Corporation d/b/a Empire State Development, for funding for various

flood mitigation projects (Project #’s X914 & Y489) in an amount up to $389,863.00,

in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified

with the approval of the County Attorney; and, be it further

 RESOLVED, that the 2016 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as

follows:

INCREASE AMOUNT

DD.5110.5110-4600.4660 Other Misc. Contractual $389,863.00

DD.5110.5110-3300.3589 State Aid, Transportation $389,863.00

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to execute inter-municipal agreements with the various towns to provide

reimbursement of costs actually incurred and contemplated by this grant agreement

and Project #’s X914 & Y489 upon receipt of any necessary and required

documentation; and, be it further

 RESOLVED, that the Commissioner of Finance is hereby authorized to make

any and all budget modifications, transfers and entries necessary to effectuate the

disbursement of funds to the various eligible towns,

and moves its adoption.
