Legislators Jeanette Provenzano and Mary Wawro offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Office for the Aging; and

WHEREAS, the RSVP Program, which coordinated a volunteer system and

network to provide various forms of assistance and interaction, has been discontinued

by SUNY Ulster; and

WHEREAS, there still remains a need for this type of volunteer program in

the community; and

WHEREAS, the proposed new Ulster County’s Senior Volunteer Program

will provide for the continued coordination of volunteers in the county; and

WHEREAS, the Ulster County’s Senior Volunteer Program will provide

opportunities for senior citizens from Ulster County to share their life skills and

experience to help improve the lives of their neighbors; and

WHEREAS, Ulster County’s Senior Volunteer Program will continue to offer

adults a wide variety of ways to volunteer, including but not limited to driving

seniors w

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Personnel Officer has reviewed the request

and has by order and determination deemed the classifications of the new positions as

Account Clerk (Grade 6) (less than half time) of the classified civil service and

Senior Aging Services Aide (Grade 6) (full time) of the classified civil service and

allocates such, pending approval by the New York State Civil Service Commission,

and both positions as appropriate pending Legislative approval; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the 2015 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as

follows:
