Chairman of the Legislative Programs, Education and Community Services

Committee, David B. Donaldson, and Deputy Chairman Mary Wawro offer the

following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Office for the Aging; and

WHEREAS, Ulster County Office for the Aging directly provides a wide

range of services to the County’s senior citizens, with an emphasis on serving those

most in need; and

WHEREAS, the New York State Office for the Aging (hereinafter

“NYSOFA”) allocates funds to the various New York counties based on their

respective populations of residents aged 60 and over; and

WHEREAS, Part 1 of Chapter 60 of the New York State Laws of 2014

provides funding to support an increase in annual salary and salary related fringe

benefit costs for direct care workers as defined by the Director of NYSOFA; and

WHEREAS, Ulster County is required to submit an attestation confirming

that the funding provided by NYSOFA under this statue will be used only to support

salary and salary related fringe benefit increases for direct care staff, direct support

professionals and staff as defined by the NYSOFA Director; now, therefore, it be

 RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature attests that the funding

provided by NYSOFA will be used to support salary and fringe related benefit

increases through executing any and all required documentation, such as an

attestation form,

and move it adoption.
