Al, along with his wife Lisa, lives in the hamlet of Malden in the Town of Saugerties. A Saugerties High School alum, he remained in his home town and became a proud father, stepfather, and grandfather who enjoys nothing more than spending time with family and friends.

A close second to family, is Al’s respect and dedication to Veterans. He is a ride captain for the Patriot Guard Riders and New York State Coordinator for Warrior Watch Riders. Both groups provide dignified escorts for Veterans and honors them and their families. And, through the group Major Stuart A.Wolfer Institute (MSAWI), he helps coordinate packing and shipping of care packages to troops overseas. To date over 10,000 package have been sent!

A blue-collar worker all his life, Al understands the importance of good paying jobs and the benefits of accessible vocational training opportunities. Currently serving as a HVAC Technician at Vassar Bros. Medical Center, he will bring that work ethic to the Legislature and pledges to work hard to bring real jobs to Ulster County using responsible ideals.

He also currently serves as Chairman of the Saugerties Board of Assessment Review, Chairman of the Ethics Committee, and member of the Saugerties Transportation Advisory Commission. He also served the Town of Saugerties as a member of the Conservation Advisory Commission and representative on the Ulster County Planning Board.

Elected to represent the people of Ulster County Legislative District 2, which encompasses Malden, the Village of Saugerties, Barclay Heights, and the Bishops Gate community of Glasco, he is looking forward to bringing a bipartisan, common sense approach to issues that will benefit all Ulster County citizens.

In the Legislature, Al will prioritize using technology in a way that actually reduces the county’s total carbon footprint while maintaining and creating living wage jobs that will enable our children and grandchildren the opportunity to live and raise a family here. He is also focused on passing effective legislation that will help victims of addiction, including providing additional funding for treatment centers and professional assistance, as well as partnering with other agencies and programs such as R.Y.A.N. and DARE programs. He believes these partnerships and outreach to Boys & Girls Clubs, school groups, and scouts will be key to early intervention and prevention. He will also look for ways to support Law Enforcement’s efforts to stem the flow of heroin, fentanyl and other deadly narcotics in our communities and to provide resources to prosecute those who put Ulster County families in harm’s way.
