Members of the Periodic Compensation Review Committee issued statements today regarding a draft report from the committee, which has been published on the county web site for public comment.

With a unanimous vote, the Ulster County Legislature approved a local law to ensure any changes or amendments to a county contract will be submitted to the County Legislature for approval.

“Until this local law, after a contract was approved by the Legislature, we never saw it again, despite changes and updates,” noted Legislator and law co-sponsor Carl Belfiglio.  “We might approve the purchase of one service and actually pay for another without the proper checks and balances.”
