Ulster County Legislature Seeks Applicants for the Recycling Oversight Committee
(Kingston, NY) – The Ulster County Legislature is seeking applicants to serve on the Recycling oversight Committee, a board comprised of local stakeholders to provide guidance on recycling and waste management in Ulster County, including determining what can be recycled in Ulster County and ensuring our recycling rate increases in accordance with the Waste Management Plan. This Committee works closely with the Ulster County Resource Recovery Agency (UCRRA) to achieve these goals and receives quarterly reports from the UCRRA on their progress and recommendations to further recycling efforts in Ulster County.
In addition to three at-large seats open to any Ulster County resident interested in serving, there are several seats open to those who fit the following criteria:
- Representative from the Ulster County Town Supervisors’ Association;
- Representative from the City of Kingston;
- Representative from the Ulster County Environmental Management Council;
- Representative from Ulster County’s Municipal Recycling Coordinators;
- Representative from the Waste Hauling Industry; and
- Representative from the Multi-Family Dwelling Sector;
- Representative from the Commercial or Institutional Sector
Members of the Resource Recovery Agency Board of Directors are prohibited from serving on this Committee but may attend meetings as an ex-officio representative. Interested candidates are invited to submit their applications promptly to be considered for these important board positions. Applications may be reviewed by the County Legislature on a rolling basis, so early submissions are encouraged to ensure full consideration. Terms are for three years, and members may continue to serve until their replacement is appointed.

La Legislatura Del Condado De Ulster Busca Candidatos Para El Comité
De Supervisión Del Reciclaje
(Kingston, NY) – La Legislatura del Condado de Ulster busca candidatos para formar parte del Comité de Supervisión de Reciclaje, una junta integrada por actores locales para brindar orientación sobre el reciclaje y la gestión de residuos en el Condado de Ulster, incluyendo la determinación de qué se puede reciclar en el Condado de Ulster y la garantía de que nuestra tasa de reciclaje aumente de acuerdo con el Plan de Gestión de Residuos. Este Comité trabaja en estrecha colaboración con la Agencia de Recuperación de Recursos del Condado de Ulster (UCRRA) para lograr estos objetivos y recibe informes trimestrales de la UCRRA sobre su progreso y recomendaciones para impulsar las iniciativas de reciclaje en el Condado de Ulster.
Además de los tres escaños generales abiertos a cualquier residente del Condado de Ulster interesado en servir, hay varios escaños abiertos para aquellos que se ajustan a los siguientes criterios:
• Representante de la Asociación de Supervisores Municipales del Condado de Ulster;
• Representante de la Ciudad de Kingston;
• Representante del Consejo de Gestión Ambiental del Condado de Ulster;
• Representante de los Coordinadores Municipales de Reciclaje del Condado de Ulster;
• Representante del Sector de Recogida de Residuos; y
• Representante del Sector de Viviendas Multifamiliares;
• Representante del Sector Comercial o Institucional
Los Miembros de la Junta Directiva de la Agencia de Recuperación de Recursos tienen prohibido formar parte de este Comité, pero pueden asistir a las reuniones como representantes ex officio. Se invita a los candidatos interesados a presentar sus solicitudes con prontitud para ser considerados para estos importantes puestos en la junta. La Legislatura del Condado puede revisar las solicitudes de forma continua, por lo que se recomienda enviarlas con anticipación para garantizar su completa consideración. Los mandatos son de tres años y los miembros pueden continuar en sus funciones hasta que se nombre a su sustituto.
