Chairman of the Legislative Programs, Education and Community Services

Committee, David B. Donaldson, and Deputy Chairman Mary Wawro offer the

following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Ulster County Office for the Aging; and

WHEREAS, the New York State Office for the Aging has notified Ulster

County that it has been awarded funding for the 2013-2014 Medicare Improvements

for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) program (CFDA# 93.071) in the amount of

$11,393.00; and

WHEREAS, the goal of the program is for outreach and assistance with

Medicare Part D beneficiaries in rural areas, and for activities related to the

promotion and distribution of information on Medicare preventive and wellness

services; and

WHEREAS, the funds will be used to reimburse the County for MIPPA

expenditures incurred by the Ulster County Office for the Aging, including: salaries,

benefits, and contractual costs; and

WHEREAS, the Director of the Ulster County Office for the Aging requests

that the 2014 Ulster County budget be amended in order to utilize this additional

funding; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the 2014 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as

follows:
