Awards Presented at July 8, 2004 Session

Chairman Richard A. Gerentine will call upon District 9 Legislator Wayne Harris, Chairman of the Economic Development / Education, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Committee, along with Joe Lee-Civalier, Bureau Director for NYS DOT, John S. Fabian, Chief Motor Carrier Accident Investigations, Motor Carrier Safety Bureau � NYS DOT and Michael Gluskin, Investigator, Motor Carrier Safety Bureau � NYS DOT to present Cynthia Ruiz, Director of Ulster County Area Transit with an "Excellence in Transit Safety" award for their Pre-trip Monitoring and Wheelchair Training Programs.

Fabian, Chief Motor Carrier Accident Investigations, Motor Carrier Safety Bureau � NYS DOT and Michael Gluskin, Investigator, Motor Carrier Safety Bureau � NYS DOT to present Cynthia Ruiz, Director of Ulster County Area Transit with a Leadership in Transit Safety Award for the "TIPS Program.

Gerentine will call upon District 9 Legislator Wayne Harris, Chairman of the Economic Development / Education, Tourism and Cultural Affairs Committee, along with Joe Lee-Civalier, Bureau Director for NYS DOT, John S. Fabian, Chief Motor Carrier Accident Investigations, Motor Carrier Safety Bureau � NYS DOT and Michael Gluskin, Investigator, Motor Carrier Safety Bureau � NYS DOT to present an award to Joe Aversano, Public Transit Maintenance and Safety Manager and Diane Bergquist, Dispatcher / Trainer, Leadership Awards for their participation in creating and implementing the BAITFISH (Bus Accident Investigation Training For Identifying Safety Hazards) Program.

Chairman Richard A. Gerentine will call upon District 2 Legislators Michael Stock and Brian Shapiro and District 4 Legislators Robert Aiello, Joan Feldmann, Joseph Roberti and Alice Tipp to present a Pride of Ulster County Award to Mary "Peg" Nau, Tax Collector for the Town of Saugerties, in recognition of being named Tax Collector of the Year.

Chairman Richard A. Gerentine will call upon District 2 Legislators Michael Stock and Brian Shapiro and District 4 Legislators Robert Aiello, Joan Feldmann, Joseph Roberti and Alice Tipp to present a Pride of Ulster County Award to Sarah Thornton, a recent graduate of Saugerties High School in recognition of winning the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Division 1 and Overall Federation Championships for her discus throws and for placing Third, nationally, in the discus at the Adidas Outdoor Championships at North Carolina State University.

Chairman Richard A. Gerentine will call upon District 2 Legislators Michael Stock and Brian Shapiro and District 4 Legislators Robert Aiello, Joan Feldmann, Joseph Roberti and Alice Tipp to present a Pride of Ulster County Award to Brittany Littlefield in recognition of being named The Daily Freeman�s Player of the Year for her outstanding accomplishments in softball for the Saugerties High School Softball Team � 2004 Season, by pitching 7 shutouts, 2 one-hitters, 2 two-hitters and 2 three-hitters. Ms. Littlefield also had 139 strike outs and 15 walks in 126 innings.

Chairman Richard A. Gerentine will call upon District 2 Legislators Michael Stock and Brian Shapiro and District 4 Legislators Robert Aiello, Joan Feldmann, Joseph Roberti and Alice Tipp to present a Pride of Ulster County Award to John Speirs in recognition of being named The Daily Freeman�s Coach of the Year for his outstanding achievements as the Saugerties High School Girl�s Softball Coach for having 15 consecutive winning seasons, for having his third straight 20-plus win season and for his outstanding record of 262 wins versus 77 loses resulting in a .773 winning percentage.

Chairman Richard A. Gerentine will call upon District 9 Legislators Frank Felicello, Richard A. Gerentine, Wayne Harris and William McAfee to present a Pride of Ulster County Award to William Borchert in honor of receiving his Eagle Scout Award.

Chairman Richard A. Gerentine will call upon District 9 Legislators Frank Felicello, Richard A. Gerentine, Wayne Harris and William McAfee along with District 11 Legislators Elizabeth Alfonso and Charles Busick to present a Pride of Ulster County Award to Daniel Alfonso and Cara Walsh in recognition of receiving a Perfect Attendance Award from Marlboro High School.
