NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING ON PROJECT ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS (CDBG) ADMINISTERED BY THE NEW YORK STATE OFFICE OF HOMES AND COMMUNITY RENEWAL FUNDING: THE HUDSON HOUSE & DISTILLERY

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN,that pursuant to Section 570.486, Subpart I of the Code of Federal Regulations in compliance with the requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, a public hearing will be held on August 19, 2025, at 7:10 PM or soon thereafter as the public may be heard in the Legislative Chambers, Ulster County Office Building, 244 Fair Street, Kingston, New York. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, that citizens are advised that Ulster County received an award under the Economic Development and Small Business Assistance Program that utilizes Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds administered by the New York State Office of Homes and Community Renewal (OCR). The program provides funding to local governments to assist qualifying businesses who undertake activities resulting in the creation or retention of job opportunities for person from low-to-moderate income households.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that Ulster County has currently reimbursed The Hudson House & Distillery, 1835 Rt 9W, West Park, NY 12493, in the amount of $58,599.00 toward the purchase of commercial kitchen equipment for its operation, as a direct result of creating three (3) full-time equivalent jobs for low-to-moderate income individuals.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, the recently created position has been filled by an individual from a low to moderate-income household. We anticipate a final funding request of $19,531.81 in June 2025, following the acceptance of this last offer of employment.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that copies of supporting documentation are available for viewing at the offices of the Ulster County Dept. of Economic Development, 3 Development Court, Kingston, NY 12401.

PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that citizens are encouraged to submit their comments and views on the performance of the project and its administration. Written comments should be directed to Kevin Lynch, Director, Ulster County Dept. of Economic Development, 3 Development Court, Kingston, NY 12401 and shall be received no later than 5:00PM on July 15, 2025.
