Majority Leader Abe Uchitelle offers the following:

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature and Ulster County Executive have requested State legislation to authorize Ulster County to create a special reserve fund in order to address housing needs within said County; and

 

WHEREAS, such legislation has now been introduced as Senate Bill No. SXXXX and Assembly Bill No. AXXXX so that a formal Home Rule Request is now appropriate; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the County Executive and the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute and submit a Home Rule Request (Request by a Local Government for Enactment of a Special Law), pursuant to Article IX of the Constitution, requesting the enactment of Senate Bill No. SXXXX and Assembly Bill No. AXXXX entitled “An Act to amend the general municipal law, in relation to authorizing the county of Ulster to establish an affordable housing fund,”,

 

and move its adoption.
