Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, and Gina Hansut, Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

         

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Ulster County Sheriff; and

 

WHEREAS, the New York State Dept. of Corrections and Community Supervision has requested a Parolee Hearing room within the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office; and

 

WHEREAS, the initial term of the Memorandum of Understanding between the New York State Dept. of Corrections and Community Supervision and the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office for this provision ended on December 31, 2024; and

 

WHEREAS, both parties intend to exercise a one-year extension on this agreement; and

 

WHEREAS, the term of the agreement to be extended will be for one (1) year from January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the NYS Department of Corrections and Community Supervision to provide a certified courtroom within the Sheriff’s Office to serve as a Parolee Hearing room for the term January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025 in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

 

and moves its adoption.
