Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Gina Hansut, and Deputy Chair Chris Hewitt offer the following:

 

            WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Ulster County Sheriff; and

 

            WHEREAS, the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office has requested use of a classroom on the Kingston campus of the SUNY Ulster; and

 

            WHEREAS, this will allow for officers to convene in a designated space to address and treat wellness and provide mental health checks; and

 

            WHEREAS, SUNY Ulster will allow the use of its classroom at no cost, limited to the stipulations of contract; and

 

            WHEREAS, the term of the agreement shall be January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025; now, therefore, be it

 

            RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign a memorandum of agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office and SUNY Ulster for use of one of their classrooms, as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County,            

 

and moves its adoption.
