Chairman of the Health, Human Services and Housing Committee, Abe Uchitelle, and Deputy Chair Craig V. Lopez offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Health; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 295 dated August 18, 2020, Health Research, Inc and the County entered into a contract for the COVID-19 Enhanced Detection grant to increase capacity building for COVID-19 case investigations and contract tracing coordination for the period July 1, 2020 to June 30, 2022; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 621 dated December 12, 2021, Health Research, Inc and the County amended the contract for the COVID-19 Enhanced Detection grant to increase capacity building for COVID-19 case investigations and contract tracing coordination for an additional $532,913.00 in funding for the period July 1, 2020 to March 31, 2023; and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 145 dated March 16, 2022, Health Research, Inc and the County amended the contract for COVID-19 Enhanced Detection grant to release the Restricted Emergency Placeholder Funding, adding an additional $1,000,000.00 in funding to support enhanced detection expansion of COVID-19 surveillance and prevention, as per notification dated January 26, 2022; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Department of Health received notification on September 11, 2023 from the New York State Department of Health to extend the funding period through July 31, 2024; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to reflect increased funding, an amendment to the 2024 budget is necessary; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that the 2024 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
