Chairman of the Health, Human Services and Housing Committee, Abe Uchitelle, and Deputy Chair Craig Lopez offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Office for the Aging; and

 

WHEREAS, the New York State Office for the Aging (OFA) has notified Ulster County that it is extending the allocation of Unmet Needs funding in the amount of $746,540.00; and

 

WHEREAS, the Unmet Need funding is to be used to serve older adults who are in need of food, professional services, mileage for OFA homemaker aides, legal services, and health promotion programs; and

 

            WHEREAS, the term for the Unmet Need funding year is April 1, 2023 through March 31, 2024 and was extended through September 30, 2024 in order to use the remaining balance of $420,000.00; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to reflect this funding, the Ulster County Office for the Aging would like to amend its 2024 Ulster County Budget by $420,000.00 to include the remaining Unmet Needs funding; and

 

            WHEREAS, reimbursement for County expenditures begins immediately due to NYSOFA foregoing a formal application process for this funding, allowing Ulster County Office for the Aging to be quickly reimbursed; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of the Office for the Aging requests the 2024 Ulster County Budget be amended in order to utilize this additional funding; now, therefore, be it

 

            RESOLVED, that the 2024 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
