Chair of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Kathy Nolan, Deputy Chair Herbert Litts, III, and Legislator Stewart offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

 

WHEREAS, the Beaverkill Road Bridge over Scudder Brook Replacement Project (PIN 8762.80) in the Town of Hardenburgh Ulster County; and

 

WHEREAS, this Locally Administered Federal Aid Project provides for the replacement of the Beaverkill Road Bridge due to extensive deterioration of the weathering steel girders and asphalt pan superstructure and the concrete substructures; and

 

WHEREAS, Capital Project No. 680 was established pursuant to Resolution No. 742 dated December 18, 2023, in the amount of $285,000.00 to provide authorization and funding for preliminary engineering and right-of-way incidental work for the Project; and

 

WHEREAS, an engineering consultant has been selected for the Project and a scope of services and cost proposal have been established; and

 

WHEREAS, based on information provided from such engineering consultant it has been determined that it is now necessary to increase the federal and non-federal share of costs for the engineering and right-of-way work for the Project by $40,386.00, of which such costs may be reimbursable up to 80% with federal funds, bringing the total phase of the project cost to $325,386.00; and

 

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that Capital Project No 680 be amended and funded for a total project amount of $40,386.00 in order to provide engineering and right of way for a new total project amount totaling $325,386.00; now, therefore be it

 

 

 

RESOLVED, based upon examination by the Ulster County Legislature, the County’s funding of this Project constitutes a Type II action as defined under Section 4.5.6 of the County of Ulster’s State Environmental Quality Review Act (SEQRA) Type II List, which was adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 118 dated April 20, 2010; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, Ulster County has determined that this funding action does not pose a significant potential environmental impact and may be progressed as a Type II action in accordance with 6 NYCRR Part 617 of SEQRA, and does not require any further determination or procedure under SEQRA; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the 2024-2029 Ulster County Capital Improvement Program is amended as follows;
