Chairwoman of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Laura Petit, Legislator Chris Hewitt and Legislator Joe Maloney offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature adopted Resolution No. 587 on October 17, 2023, which established Capital Project No. 678 to fund the purchase of real property including 12,048 square feet of light industrial/warehouse space located at 1711-1715 Ulster Avenue, Lake Katrine, (Town of Ulster), Ulster County, New York. Tax Parcel ID#; 38.19-3-23, for use by the Building and Grounds Division of the Ulster County Department of Public Works; and

 

WHEREAS, said property also includes a single-family 1.5 story occupied dwelling; and

 

WHEREAS, the single-family occupied dwelling was not referenced as part of Capital Project No. 587; and

 

WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature deems it necessary to address this structure, and to help assist the individuals currently occupying the dwelling to have ample time to find alternate housing should it be necessary; now, therefore be it

 

  RESOLVED, that Ulster County will complete a subdivision of parcel SBL 38.19-3-23 to create a new parcel for the occupied single-family dwelling; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the newly subdivided parcel with the single-family dwelling shall be sold to keep the housing unit available for lease or privately ownership with priority given to the current occupant of first refusal or purchase at a fair market value,

 

and move its adoption.
