Legislators Phil Erner and Laura Petit offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Transportation has committed to provide certain services to the people of Ulster County; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to plan their trips on fixed-route buses, Ulster County bus riders depend upon accurate, up-to-date communications from the Department, which is the operator of Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT); and

 

WHEREAS, it is necessary and proper to adjust UCAT bus routes, stop locations and schedules both from time-to-time in order to address changing ridership size, origins and destinations, as well as immediately during such occasions as emergent staffing shortages; now, therefore be it

 

RESOLVED, that any planned changes to UCAT bus routes, stop locations and schedules shall be publicly noticed and otherwise communicated by the Department’s usual methods of marketing, no less than 30 days in advance; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that any emergent changes shall be communicated as soon as is practicable,

 

and move its adoption.
