Chairwoman of the Public Works, Capital Projects and Transportation Committee, Laura Petit, and Deputy Chair Dean J. Fabiano offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Public Works; and

 

WHEREAS, it is desired to replace the fabric on DPW salt sheds at six (6) facilities with a cool roof fabric that is intended to reflect more sunlight and absorb less heat than a standard rooftop and potentially extend the service life of the fabric; and

 

          WHEREAS, the project consists of the removal, disposal, and replacement of six (6) salt storage fabric roofs for substations in Accord, Kingston, Plattekill, Quarryville, Shawangunk and Ulster Heights, as procured through RFB-UC22-141C; and

 

          WHEREAS, the current fabric is a dark color and the new fabric will be changed to a white color in consideration of a cool roof design, which will be incorporated as an energy efficiency feature in the design phase; and

 

          WHEREAS, salt shed storage facilities improve the efficiency and environmental conditions of the County’s salt storage operations; and

 

          WHEREAS, the project expenditures in the amount of $120,00.00 for the DPW Salt Storage Building Fabric Replacement were approved in the 2022 – 2027 Capital Program; and

 

          WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that Capital Project No. 636 be established and funded for the purchase of materials and construction in the amount of $296,415.00; now, therefore be it

 

          RESOLVED, that the 2022-2027 Ulster County Capital Improvement Program is amended as follows:
