Chairman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Abe Uchitelle, and Deputy Chair Gina Hansut offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the Ulster County Sheriff; and

WHEREAS, Ulster County Board of Cooperative Educational Services (BOCES) has requested a Deputy Sheriff be assigned as a School Resource Officer (SRO) at locations as requested by the District; and

 WHEREAS, The Ulster County BOCES will pay Ulster County an amount not less than $53,241.58 for the services of the part-time Deputy Sheriff assigned as the School Resource Officer; and

WHEREAS, the term of the agreement shall be July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to sign an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with Ulster County BOCES to provide a Deputy Sheriff to serve as a School Resource Officer for the term July 1, 2022 through June 30, 2023, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,      

and moves its adoption.
