Chair of the Health, Human Services and Housing Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Craig V. Lopez offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Department of Social Services; and
WHEREAS, Sections A3-4(Y) and A2-6(A)(3) of the Administrative Code provide that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature can, upon approval of the County Legislature, enter into an inter-municipal agreement on behalf of the County of Ulster; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to General Municipal Law, Section 119-n(a), the definition of a municipal corporation includes a school district; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of the New York State Public Health Law, Article 25, Section 2559-a, and New York State Education Law, Article 89, Section 4410(8), the County is required to provide transportation for certain preschool children with special needs and handicapping conditions, up to five (5) years of age, who are receiving services in connection with the County’s Early Intervention and Preschool Programs; and
WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Ulster County Department of Social Services requests that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute an Inter-Municipal Agreement with the New Paltz Central School District in the amount of $16,600.00 for Preschool Special Education Transportation Services, for the period April 20, 2022 through June 23, 2022; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is authorized to execute inter-municipal agreements, and any amendments thereto, with New Paltz Central School District, in the amount of $16,600.00 for Preschool Special Education Transportation Services, for the period beginning April 20, 2022 through June 23, 2022, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,
and moves its adoption.
