Chair of the Health, Human Services and Housing Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Craig V. Lopez offer the following:

 

           WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Office for the Aging; and

 

            WHEREAS, the New York State Office for the Aging has made available to Ulster County Office for the Aging funding for the HDC5 program of the Consolidated Appropriations Act through September 30, 2022, for services to Ulster County seniors in the total amount of $85,688.00; and

 

            WHEREAS, under the New York State’s Major Disaster Declaration (MDD) made in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the funds can be used for any eligible service and once the MDD is lifted, the allowable services under HDC5 will correspond with the Older Americans Act Title III-C-2 funding; and

 

            WHEREAS, the HDC5 funds will be used for food/meals for Ulster County senior citizens and may be used immediately through September 30, 2022; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to reflect the increased funding, the Ulster County Office for the Aging would like to amend its 2022 Ulster County Budget by $85,688.00 to include the funds for the HDC5 program of the Consolidated Appropriations Act; and,

           

WHEREAS, reimbursement for County expenditures begins immediately due to NYSOFA foregoing a formal application process for this stimulus program, allowing Ulster County Office for the Aging to be reimbursed right away; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of the Office for the Aging requests the 2022 Ulster County Budget be amended in order to utilize this additional funding; now, therefore, be it

 

            RESOLVED, that the 2022 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
