Chairman of the Legislative Programs, Education and Community Services Committee, James Delaune, and Deputy Chair Thomas Corcoran, offer the following:

 

WHEREAS,thisresolutionhasbeensubmittedbytheCounty ExecutiveonbehalfoftheVeteranServicesAgency;and

 

WHEREAS,theapproved2021–2026CapitalImprovementProgramincludesaproject“Veteran’sCemetery”intheamountof$820,000.00toconstructthecemeteryexpansionandimprovements;and

 

WHEREAS,pursuanttoResolutionNo.468of November20,2018, theCountyestablishedCapitalProjectNo.528andprovidedfundingforplanningexpenseswithregardtoexpansionandimprovementsattheVeteransCemeterylocatedonPlainsRoadintheTown/VillageofNewPaltztoincludewalkways,hardscaping,andacommittalshelterintheamountof$110,000.00;and

 

WHEREAS, Pursuant to Resolution No. 306 of July 16, 2019 the County provided additional funding to conduct the necessary studies to needed to comply with the New York State Environmental Quality Review Act (6 NYCRR Part 617, SEQRA) in the amount of $42,000.00; and

 

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 181 of May 19, 2020 the County provided addition funding for a Phase II archeological study and examination of existing water supply alternative in the amount of $18,400.00; and

 

WHEREAS,additional funds are necessary to conduct additional archeological studies based on the discoveries at the site during the Phase II Archeological effort, and for design of a new well and associated facilities due to the lack of water available from the existing on-site well; now,therefore,beit
