Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Fire Coordinator; and

 

WHEREAS, the Counties of Ulster, Rockland, Orange and Sullivan all operate Fire/Emergency Services departments; and

 

WHEREAS, there are grant funds totaling $142,000.00 from the New York State Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services that are only available to regional partnerships; and

 

WHEREAS, as a participant in the proposed regional partnership, Ulster County will receive equipment and services valued at $35,500.00; now, therefore, be it 

 

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the Counties of Rockland, Orange and Sullivan to form a regional partnership for Fire/Emergency Services, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

 

and move its adoption.
