Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Eve Walter, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the Sheriff’s Office; and

         

WHEREAS, dive vans are used in critical rescue services provided by law enforcement; and

 

WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office purchased a new dive van in 2019; and

 

WHEREAS, the Sheriff’s Office is still in possession of, and no longer in need of, its previous dive van, which was acquired for one dollar ($1.00); and

 

          WHEREAS, the Greene County Sheriff’s Office is in need of a dive van; and

         

          WHEREAS, it is in interest of Ulster County that neighboring counties be able to execute rescue operations that may necessitate a dive van; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute all documents necessary to transfer title of Ulster County Sheriff’s Office’s older dive van to Greene County Sheriff’s Office in exchange for one dollar ($1.00),

 

and move its adoption.
