Referred to: The Public Health and Social Services Committee (Chairman Lopez and Legislators Bruno, Criswell, Petit, and Uchitelle), and The Ways and Means Committee (Chairwoman Archer and Legislators Bartels, Gavaris, Haynes, Maio, Ronk, and Walter)
Chairman of the Public Health and Social Services Committee, Craig V. Lopez, and Deputy Chair Peter J. Criswell offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the County’s Department of Social Services (“DSS”); and
WHEREAS, the DSS has received notification from the Redlich Horwitz Foundation of the award of $20,000.00 in funding to enhance remote connectivity and support virtual family-driven care to families and youth in the County’s Foster Care program; and
WHEREAS, the funds will be used exclusively to purchase software, hardware and cellular-service to give telecommunication capacity to youth, families of origin, and foster families to support family-based placements, family connection, reunification and permanency in a time of physical distancing; and
WHEREAS, in order to reflect the increased funding, an amendment of the 2020 Ulster County Budget is necessary; and
WHEREAS, no County contribution or matching funding is required; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the 2020 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
INCREASE AMOUNT
AA. 6010.2608-4300.4505 Professional Services Other Fees $ 20,000.00
