Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Lynn Eckert, and Deputy Chair Kenneth Ronk, Jr. offer the following:

 

           WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Probation; and

 

           WHEREAS, the Department of Probation administers the Crime Victim Assistance Program which serves and aids all victims and witnesses of crime; and

 

           WHEREAS, the Department of Probation has been awarded funding from the New York State Office of Victim Services in the amount of $2,239,929, which will provide the continued services to victims through the Ulster County Crime Victims Assistance Program (“CVAP”); and

 

           WHEREAS, the source of funds is 100% Federal (CFDA#16.575);

 

           WHEREAS, the Director of Probation has requested that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute an agreement (OVS01-C11095GG-1080200) with NYSOVS to receive funding under the Victim and Witness Assistance Grant Program in the amount of $2,239,929 for the period beginning October 1, 2019 and ending September 30, 2022; now, therefore, be it

 

           RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute and sign an agreement (OVS01-C11095GG-1080200) and any related amendments with NYSOVS for the period beginning October 1, 2019 and ending September 30, 2022, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney in consultation with the Chairman of the Legislature and the Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee,
