Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning, and Transit Committee, Brian J. Woltman, and Deputy Chair Lynn Archer offer the following:

 

           WHEREAS, this Resolution has been submitted by the Acting County Executive on behalf of Ulster County Area Transit (UCAT); and

 

            WHEREAS, Ulster County is a designated recipient of funding through the Federal Transit Administration’s (FTA) Bus and Bus Facilities Program (Section 5339 funds); and

 

             WHEREAS, funding from this program would allow UCAT to purchase two (2) 26-foot low floor buses and two (2) 35-foot low floor buses to replace four (4) buses that will reach the end of their useful lives; and

 

              WHEREAS, the cost to purchase the four buses will be split as follows: 80% Federal Share ($900,377.00), 10% New York Share ($112,547.00) and 10% Ulster County Share ($112,547.00); now, therefore be it

 

              RESOLVED, that the Ulster County Legislature hereby authorizes a grant application to the FTA’s Bus and Bus Facilities Program; and, be it further

 

            RESOLVED, that the County Executive is hereby authorized to execute any required applications or agreements, and any amendments to any documents, to accept the funding agreement with the FTA,

 

and move its adoption.
