Chairwoman of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee, Lynn Eckert, and Deputy Chair Kenneth Ronk, Jr. offer the following:

 

             WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the Ulster County Sheriff’s Office; and

 

             WHEREAS, the Rondout Valley Central School District has requested two Deputy Sheriffs be assigned as School Resource Officers (SROs) at locations as requested by the District; and

 

             WHEREAS, Rondout Valley School District will pay Ulster County an amount not less than $ 194,037.00 for the services of the two full-time Deputy Sheriffs assigned as the School Resource Officers; and

 

             WHEREAS, the term of the agreement shall begin September 1, 2019 and end June 30, 2020; now, therefore, be it

 

             RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute an agreement and any related amendments with the Rondout Valley Central School District to provide two Deputy Sheriffs to serve as a School Resource Officers for the term beginning September 1, 2019 and ending June 30, 2020, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney, in consultation with Counsel to the County Legislature, Chair of the County Legislature, and the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Committee,

 

and move its adoption.
