Chairman of the Legislative Programs, Education and Community Services Committee, James Delaune, and Deputy Chair Heidi Haynes, offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the Acting County Executive on behalf of the Ulster County Office for the Aging; and

 

WHEREAS, the New York State Office for the Aging (“NYSOFA”) has notified Ulster County that funding for the 2018-2019 Federal Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) program in the amount of $15,553; and

 

WHEREAS, the goal of the program is for outreach and assistance with Medicare Part D beneficiaries in rural areas, and for activities related to the promotion and distribution of information on Medicare preventive and wellness services; and

 

WHEREAS, the term for the MIPPA program year is September 30, 2018 through September 29, 2019; and

 

WHEREAS, if the County's application is approved, the funds will be used to reimburse the County for MIPPA expenditures incurred by the County’s Office for the Aging, including salaries, benefits, and contractual costs; and

 

WHEREAS, the Director of the County’s Office for the Aging requests that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature be authorized to execute the MIPPA Application, with required assurances, and any related amendments, for the term beginning September 30, 2018 and ending September 29, 2019; and 

 

WHEREAS, the Director of the County’s Office for the Aging requests that the 2019 Ulster County Budget be amended in order to utilize the MIPPA funding; now, therefore, be it

 

 

 

RESOLVED, that the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute the application with required assurances, and any related amendments, with NYSOFA for the MIPPA program, for the term beginning September 30, 2018 and ending September 29, 2019 in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney; and, be it further

 

RESOLVED, that the 2019 Ulster County Budget is hereby amended as follows:
