Referred to: The Public Works and Capital Projects Committee (Chairman Fabiano
and Legislators Greene, Litts, Nolan, and Roberts), and The Ways and Means
Committee (Chairman Gerentine and Legislators Archer, Bartels, Lopez, James
Maloney, Joseph Maloney, and Petit)
Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano,
Deputy Chair Manna Jo Greene, and Legislator Litts offer the following:
WHEREAS, this Resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on
behalf of the Department of Public Works; and
WHEREAS, the County of Ulster is in the process of planning the reconstruction of New Paltz Road at the intersection of South Chodikee Lake Road in
the Town of Lloyd in order to improve the sight distance for drivers at that
intersection; and
WHEREAS, the 2018-2023 Ulster County Capital Improvement Program
includes funding of $500,000 for such project; and
WHEREAS, the location of a house at 2-4 South Chodikee Lake Road is the
main obstacle preventing clear sight distance at said intersection and its removal
would improve the sight distance at that location; and
WHEREAS said house and property at 2-4 South Chodikee Lake Road were
recently foreclosed by Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit union and are now
available for sale to the County at approximately $50,000.00, which would reduce
the cost of such capital construction project; now, therefore be it
RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby
authorized to execute an agreement, any amendments thereto, and such other
documents as may be necessary, with Mid-Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union, to
establish the terms and conditions pursuant to which Mid-Hudson Federal Credit
Union shall sell and convey, and the County of Ulster shall purchase and take title
to, 2-4 South Chodikee Lake Road located in the Town of Lloyd, Country of Ulster
and State of New York, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County
Legislature, or as modified with the approval of the Ulster County Attorney,
and move its adoption.
