Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and

Deputy Chairman Peter M. Loughran offer the following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive’s

Office on behalf of the Department of Public Works – Building and Grounds; and

WHEREAS, the approved 2017– 2022 Capital Plan includes the amount of

$5,590,563.00 for the roof replacement program; and

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works has prepared the 2017 Roof

Replacement Program based on aging roof systems to include the Business Resource

Center and Public Works Building; and

WHEREAS, the existing roof at the former Business Resource Center was

installed in 1994 and the existing roof at the Public Works Administration building

was installed in 1999 and both roofs have exceeded their anticipated life expectancy;

and

WHEREAS, after review of roof conditions and prioritizing needs for the

Roof Replacement Program, the Commissioner of Public Works at this time requests

$1,580,000.00 from the current year’s Capital Plan; and

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of Public Works requests that the 2017-2022

Capital Improvement Program be amended to establish Capital Project No. 509, and

funded in the amount of $1,580,000.00 to fund the replacement of the Business

Resource Center and Public Works building roofs; and

WHEREAS, based upon examination by the Ulster County Legislature, the

County’s funding of this Project constitutes a Type II action as defined under

Sections 2.2 of the County of Ulster’s State Environmental Quality Review Act

(SEQRA) Type II List, which was adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 118 dated

April 20, 2010; and

WHEREAS, Ulster County has determined that this funding action does not

pose a significant potential environmental impact and may be progressed as a Type II

action in accordance with 6 NYCRR Part 617 of SEQRA, and does not require any

further determination or procedure under SEQRA; now, therefore, be it

 

RESOLVED, that Capital Project No. 509 be established for the Business

Resource Center Roof Replacement and the Public Works Building; and, be it further

RESOLVED, that Capital Project 509 is hereby established as follows:

CREATE AMOUNT

Capital Project No. 509 Roof Replacement Program $1,580,000.00

BRC and Public Works Building

and, be it further

RESOLVED, the 2017 Ulster County Capital Fund Budget is hereby amended

as follows:

HH.1997.0509-4300.4505 Professional Services $ 53,000.00

Other Fees
