Chairman of the Public Works and Capital Projects Committee, Dean J. Fabiano, and

Deputy Chairman Peter M. Loughran offer the following:

 

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Ulster County Department of Public Works; and

WHEREAS, Ulster County Community College (hereafter “UCCC” or the

“College”) previously leased space from the County for operations at Development

Court, in the County’s Business Resource Center (the BRC); and

WHEREAS, UCCC sublet some of said space to the YMCA of Kingston and

Ulster County to use a portion of the College’s space to operate the YMCA’s Youth

Build Program; and

WHEREAS, the College vacated much of its space in the BRC at the end of

August, 2015, and as a result, the YMCA’s sub-lease with the College expired; and

 

WHEREAS, the Commissioner of the Ulster County Department of Public

Works has requested that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature be

authorized to execute a lease agreement with YMCA of Kingston and Ulster County

for the continued use of 1,488 square feet of educational space for the Youth Build

Program; and

WHEREAS, said lease will be for a term of one year commencing January 1,

2016 and ending December 31, 2016, at an annual cost of $10.00/square foot and an

annual rental fee of $14,880.00 for the term of the lease, with the cost of all utilities

included in the aforementioned annual amount; and

WHEREAS, in any event, the landlord, the County of Ulster, shall have the

option to terminate the lease for any reason or for no reason, upon sixty (90) days

written notice to the YMCA; now, therefore, be it 

 

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to enter into a lease agreement with YMCA of Kingston and Ulster

County for educational space for the Youth Build Program located at Development

Court, Kingston, New York, in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County

Legislature or as modified and approved by the County Attorney,

and moves its adoption.
