Legislators Allen, Bartels, Belfiglio, Briggs, Maio, and Maloney)

Chairman of the Economic Development, Tourism, Housing, Planning, and Transit

Committee, James F. Maloney, and Deputy Chairman Hector Rodriguez offer the

following:

WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted by the County Executive on

behalf of the Department of Public Transportation; and

WHEREAS, additional funds are needed to provide continuing public transit

service connecting Ulster and Dutchess Counties, including service to MetroNorth

Train Station for a period of one year; and

WHEREAS, the Director of Public Transportation has received notification

that the New York State Department of Transportation will reimburse eligible costs

not to exceed $340,000.00; and

WHEREAS, UCAT has budgeted $340,000.00 of this aid in the 2016 budget

and expects to apply for reimbursement of its costs equal to $340,000.00; and

WHEREAS, the Director of UCAT requests the Chairman of the Ulster

County Legislature be authorized to execute an agreement with the New York State

Department of Transportation (project ID#8823.24.128) for the term January 1, 2016

through December 31, 2016 in an amount not to exceed $340,000.00; now, therefore,

be it

RESOLVED, that the Chairman of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby

authorized to execute an agreement, and any amendments thereto, with the New York

State Department of Transportation to accept reimbursement for the operation of the

LINK service (Project ID Number 8823.24.128) in an amount not to exceed

$340,000, in form as filed with the Clerk of the Ulster County Legislature or as

modified with the approval of the County Attorney,

and move its adoption.
