Chairman of the ARPA Special Committee, Thomas Corcoran, Jr., Deputy Chair Megan Sperry, and Legislator Clinton offer the following:
WHEREAS, this resolution has been submitted at the request of the County Executive on behalf of the Department of Finance, Division of Recovery and Resilience; and
WHEREAS, the Ulster County Legislature passed Resolution No. 289 of 2022 amending and funding capital project Number 635 in the amount of two million dollars ($2,000,000.00) to create a program to partner with Ulster County municipalities and match up to 50% of park and recreation projects with a maximum contribution of $100,000.00 per municipality; and
WHEREAS, the County and the Town of Gardiner (the “Town”) desire to enter into an Intermunicipal Agreement (IMA) where the Town will be a subrecipient of Ninety-Six Thousand Six Hundred and Fifteen ($96,615.00) Dollars of American Rescue Plan Act – Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds (SLFRF); and
WHEREAS the Town will be responsible under the IMA for administering a program to provide improvement to Majestic Park including a new pump track, fencing, and accessible walkways; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, the Chair of the Ulster County Legislature is hereby authorized to execute the Inter Municipal Agreement with the Town of Gardiner to partially fund improvements to Majestic Park in the form as filed with the Clerk of the Legislature or as modified with the approval of the County Attorney,
and moves its adoption.
